ADMISSION CRITERIA

DEGREE OF BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING / TECHNOLOGY (B.E/B.TECH)

A Candidate seeking admission to the first semester of a four years B.E./B.Tech. Program shall     comply with the following requirements:  

  1. The Candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of the plus two Academic stream of the Tamilnadu Board of Higher Secondary Education of the Government of Tamilnadu with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as three of the four subjects of study under Part-III or any examination of any other recognized University/Board approved by the competent statutory authority.

  1. The Candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of vocational stream (vocational groups in Engineering/Technology) as prescribed by the Government of Tamilnadu.

  1. The Candidate should possess the Diploma in Engineering/Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamilnadu or any other recognized statutory Authority.  
  1. Notwithstanding the above qualifying examination, the Candidate shall write an entrance examination designed to test the proficiency of the Candidate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at the standards prescribed for the plus two Academic stream of the Tamilnadu Board of Higher Secondary Education. It is not necessary to write the entrance examination if the Candidate has AIEEE score or score in the examination conducted at All India Level by a competent Authority.  
  1. The Candidate shall satisfy the conditions regarding qualifying marks, number of attempts, and mode of admission, age and physical fitness as prescribed by the competent statutory authority.

 

 1.2 Lateral Entry Admission:

  1. A Candidate who possess Diploma in Engineering/Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamilnadu or its equivalent is eligible to apply for direct admission to the third semester of 4 years B.E./B.Tech. Program as per the eligibility criteria given in the following table – I
  1. Notwithstanding the above qualifying examination the Candidate shall write an entrance examination designed to test the proficiency of the Candidate at diploma level.
  1. The Candidate shall satisfy the conditions regarding qualifying marks, number of attempts, and mode of admission, age and physical fitness as prescribed by the statutory authority.
