The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was started in the year 1989. It has emerged as a leading department with excellent laboratory facilities, well-qualified and experienced staff. The members of staff not only impart their wealth of knowledge to the students, but also attend to the individualistic requirements of the students. The major goal of our department is to provide high quality education in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering, so as to prepare them to face the challenges of advancing technology. Students are encouraged to join professional societies to improve their communication skills and technical knowledge. The department has an association of Electronics and Communication Engineering Students ELCENA and the IEI students’ chapter is functioning efficiently to improve their career by exploring their innovation in projects, seminars and gaming.

In present era, the field of Electronics & Communication plays an important role in almost every sphere of our life. It mainly deals with the communication technologies along with the basic electronic components, design of circuits and systems. Electronics & Communication Engineering offers scope in the field of Research, Mobile Communication, Microwave Communication, Robotics, Defense, Radio Communication, TV Broadcasting, VLSI Design, DSP, Wireless Communication, Biotechnology, Embedded System, Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing.

Electronics and Communication Engineering programme is designed to prepare students to serve the nation in meeting the challenging requirements of society envisaged in the broad areas of Design, Analysis and Testing related to Electronics Circuits, Embedded System, Wireless Communication, Image Processing, Networking, Artificial intelligence in BSNL, ISRO, DRDO, Alcatel-Lucent, BEL, Nokia, Ericson, Cognizant and Tata Consultancy Services.
