Public Relations Office Overview
Public Relation is distinctive management function which helps to establish and maintain mutual lines of communication, understanding, acceptance and cooperation between an organization and the public. It deals with the problems or issues and helps management to be informed of the same and responsive to public opinion. It also defines and emphasizes the responsibility of management to serve the public interest to keep it abreast of and effectively utilize and change. It serves as an early warning system to anticipate trends and uses research and sound and ethical Communication as its principal tools. The Public Relation Officer serves as the University Public Information Officer (PRO), and is the key spokesperson to local, state and national media in all University matters. He leads the University’s public relations strategy by carrying out operating policies and procedures with a focus on the area of public relations, media relations, community relations and communication programs by coordinating efforts with the higher authorities for the greatest efficiency and impact thereby strengthening the Institutions communications.
