Programme objective:
To create awareness and educate the University students and staff regarding olive ridley turtle conservation techniques that would help in protect turtle breeding sites on beaches.
Highlights of the program:
• Awareness session was conducted by undergraduate students of Engineering and other courses. Also, presentation related to olive ridley turtle conservation was given.
• The students demonstrated and educated about the protection of Olive Ridley turtle conservation:
? The Indian Wildlife Protection Act, 1972
? Conservation methods taken
? Prevention and control measures
? Current situation
? To take part in the turtle walk in Kanyakumari.
? Distributed Pamphlets amongst University students and staff.
