Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect – Seva Pakhwada Edition Inspires Youth at NICHE

Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE), Kanniyakumari, successfully hosted the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect – Seva Pakhwada Edition, uniting students, faculty, and volunteers in a meaningful celebration of youth engagement in nation building. The event commenced with an invocation song and lamp lighting, setting a tone of solemnity and unity.

Dr. R. S. Rimal Isaac, Nodal Officer (Viksit Bharat) & NSS Programme Officer, delivered a welcome address spotlighting the Honourable Prime Minister’s vision for a developed India by 2047, and emphasized the vital role of young people in realizing this goal. Dr. P. Thirumalvalavan (Registrar, NICHE) felicitated the gathering and led students in taking the NSS pledge, reinforcing their commitment to service.

The presence of Dr. Tessy Thomas (Vice Chancellor, NICHE) as Chief Guest elevated the event, with her inspiring address urging students to devote themselves to service and innovation. The keynote address by Mr. R. Pascal Sasil (Political and Public Policy Consultant, Youth Icon - Viksit Bharat YCP) motivated students to harness their ideas and energies for national progress and inclusivity. The dais also featured NSS Programme Officers Dr. V. N. Meena Devi and Dr. R. Rajesh, reflecting broad institutional support.

Pre-event activities included the My Bharat portal overview, registration, and quiz, all facilitated by enthusiastic student and My Bharat volunteers. The program offered interactive sessions, multimedia displays, and a Yuva Samvad, empowering students to share perspectives and engage with the speakers. Proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. A. Unni Krishnan and the National Anthem.

This edition of Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect at NICHE served as a catalyst for youth empowerment, strengthening the university’s culture of service, responsibility, and collective advancement as India moves toward its centenary of independence.
