FDP on Internet of Things at NICHE in Collaboration with ICT Academy

The Department of Computer Applications at Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE), Kanyakumari, launched a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Internet of Things (IoT)” in collaboration with ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu, held from June 2 to June 6, 2025. The inaugural function, graced by Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academics) Dr. A. Shajin Nargunam, began with a warm welcome address by Dr. J. R. Jeba, ICT Academy Coordinator at NICHE, emphasizing IoT’s significance in academia and industry. Dr. Nargunam officially inaugurated the FDP, delivering an inspiring address on IoT’s transformative role in industries, healthcare, and smart cities, urging faculty to leverage the program to enhance their expertise. The FDP coordinator outlined the week’s schedule, highlighting sessions led by expert resource persons. Mr. Rajkumar S, Relationship Manager, and Mr. Siva Gopal K, Technical Trainer from ICT Academy, attended, with Mr. Rajkumar elaborating on ICT Academy’s efforts to bridge academic-industry gaps. Well-attended by faculty from various departments, the inaugural event set an enthusiastic tone for a week of learning and innovation in IoT technologies.
