NICHE Readers’ Day 2025: Igniting a Passion for Literature

Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE) Deemed-to-be University, Kanyakumari, celebrated Readers’ Day 2025 with fervor, honoring the transformative power of reading. Held on campus, the event featured a warm welcome address by Dr. Prameela C L, Faculty Member, Department of Languages, emphasizing reading’s relevance in the digital era. Renowned poet Mr. Karikkakam Sreekumar, the Chief Guest, inspired attendees with insights on how reading fosters empathy and critical thinking. Prof. Dr. K.A. Janardhanan, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Administration), presided over the event, urging students to embrace books as lifelong companions. Notable dignitaries, including Dr. B. Bindu, Dr. Retheesh Palakkkuzhyil, and Mr. Suresh Babu, shared their perspectives on literature’s role in education. Mr. V. N.
