SYMPOSIUM

The Department of Allied Health Science has organised a National level Health Symposium on April 30,2025 at Ac Auditorium ,NICHE.Dr Preetha Prabhakar , Homoeopathic Physician and Pranic psycotherapist graced the occasion with the session ‘Thriving under stress- mastering pressure in your profession’.Lighting the Kuthuvilaku by the dignatries was followed by the presendial address by Dr R Perumalsamy Pro Chancellor Academic , Inaugral Address by Dr Thirumalvalavan, Registrar,NICHE . Felicitation was by Dr Sankaranarayanan Dean AHS. An inspiring guest lecture was followed . Students were exposed to an immense era of psychotherapies and destressing exercises.Both the faculties and students underwent relaxation psycologically Different students presented papers on the topic Recent trends in Health care. Prizes for different competitions held at the Department were distributed during the event.

World Kidney Day

The Department of Allied Health Sciences has organised an exhibition and culturals as part of the world kidney Day at NIMS Medicity. The second year and third year students of Renal Dialysis Technology are giving awareness to the patients about renal health and prevention of renal diseases.

The event witnessed several cultural programs performed by the girls of AHS . Faculties also performed for the event .

Upcoming Trends of Stem Cell Therapy in Pain Management

The Department of allied health Sciences in association with NIMS centre for Genomic medicine has organised an international conference on upcoming trends of stem cell therapy in pain management at NIMS Medicity on 18 th January 2025. The session was honoured by Dr M V Pillai, clinical professor Sydney Kimmel college of Thomas Jefferson University USA and Dr Sreejith , President IMA Trivandrum. The plenary talks were given by Dr Sairam Alturi, Founder Stem Cures USA,Dr Satish Khurana , Associate professor Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Trivandrum, Dr Aravinthan Mammalan Anesthesiology and Critical Care NIMS Medicity and Dr Aneesh Nair Principal Scientist NIMS Centre for Genomic medicine. The inaugural session commenced with welcome address delivered by Dr Manju Thampi Medical Administrator NIMS Medicity followed by the official inauguration of the session.The panelists of the conference were Dr Shafeeq Salim clinical Heamatologist and Hon senior lecturer University of Birmingham UK, Mr M S Faisal Khan , Managing Director NIMS Medicity,Dr Ansar Showkath Ali , Associate professor Anaesthesiology Goverm Medical College Trivandrum, Dr Ansar AM Anaesthesiologist and pain Medicine SpecialistDr Lekshmi Mohan Associate professor physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Government Medical College Trivandrum, Dr Lekshmi Nair consultant and Head Medical Genomics NIMS Medicity. Dengue Fever Awareness Program

The Allied Health Sciences Department of NICHE, Kanyakumari, organized a Dengue Fever Awareness Program at Tenkara Panchayat. The event aimed to educate the community about dengue fever, its prevention, and the importance of early detection. Mrs. Latha Mani, the President of Tenkara Panchayat, inaugurated the program. In her opening speech, she emphasized the significance of community participation in combating dengue fever and appreciated the efforts of NICHE in organizing such a vital awareness initiative. The program featured a vibrant flash mob performed by the students, which attracted significant attention and set an energetic tone for the event. The flash mob was followed by awareness classes that highlighted the causes, symptoms, and preventive measures for dengue fever. Key attendees included Dr. Arockia Selva Saroja and Mr. Suresh Babu K., who provided insights during the awareness sessions. Their presence added considerable value to the program,The event saw active participation from Faculties, students, parents, and children, reflecting the community's collective concern and willingness to learn about dengue fever. The interactive sessions allowed for questions and discussions.

International Conference on Allied Health and Applied Sciences

The programme started at 10AM by the invocation followed by lighting the Kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries. Welcome address by Dr Arockia Selva Saroja, conference chair.Dr R Perumal Samy, ProChancellor (Academic) gave the inaugural address and Dr P Thirumalvalavan, Registrar, NICHE gave the Presidential Address for the day. Keynote speaker, DR T Santhoshkumar, scientist Cancer Research Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Trivandrum gave an inspiring chief guest address .the abstract of the conference was released by Dr R Perumal Samy ,Prochancellor ,Academics ,NICHE .The session was concluded by vote thanks by Dr Aneesh Nair ,Convener,ICAHAS.The session was dealt by the keynote speaker. The session was on online hybrid mode by Dr Vimal Karani S,Professor of Nutrigenetics and Nutrigenomics, University of Reading ,UK. The conference had 36 papers from different colleges across South India ( Scott Christian college, NIMS Centre for Genomic Medicine, NIMS College of Nursing, JSS Academy of Higher Education and research-Mysore, Mar Ivanious College-tvm, Malankara Catholic College. Faculties of NICHE also presented papers for the conference . Sardar Raja Arts and Science College College of Agricultural Science ,Puthukottai Lekshmipuram College of Arts and Science, Noorul Rani Anna Government College for Women St Marys College .Thoothukudi. Afternoon session started with paper presentations Dr.Praseetha P K and Mr. Joseph were the judging panelists and Sruthy Joseph of NIMS medicity bagged first prize. Certificates and prizes for symposium and conference were distributed at the event . Session ended with National anthem.

Welcome address was delivered by Mr Mohammed Zayed of S2 Cardiac Care Technology.Dr K A Janardhanan provc( admin ),NICHE addressed the audience followed by felicitation of Dr P Thirumalvalavan, Registrar ,NICHE.Vote of thanks was given by Nishamary of S6 Cardiac care technology.Chief guest of the day Dr Poornima MD,Anaesthesia Intensivisit NIMS gave a session on Emerging trends in Basic life support.and CPR.Students presented their papers on the theme of the Day. Afternoon sesssion witnessed cultural events by students of AHS.

In accordance with International day of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Department of Allied health sciences ,NICHE organized an Awareness Program. Session started with Prayer song, Welcome Speech was given by Dr Munnu Das J. It was followed by introductory speech by Aruna of s4 cardiac care technology. Awareness Session was given by Dr Alan James (Assistant Professor, Dept of Forensic Medicine, kanyakumari govt Medical College)and Mrs. Sayee Lekshmi (Inspector of police, Thuckalay police station). Earth Day 2023

The theme for Earth Day 2023 is Invest In Our Planet, continuing on the same theme from 2022. It’s a call for governments, businesses and individuals to invest in a better future for the planet. Go green club, Department of Allied health sciences, NICHE in accordance with world earth day planted trees in the department and initiated watering the plants drive . Also an Awareness speech is given by our students. All the students are actively participated in this event.

world creativity and innovation day

On account of world creativity and innovation day celebration, Department of Allied Health Sciences in association with Institution innovation council of NICHE inaugurated innovation club on 20th April 2023. Dr.N.C.J.Packia Lekshmi, Assistant Professor of AHS gave a talk on the theme of this year "Step out and Innovate". Mr.Karthikeyan, final year AME student, TNSI 2020 award winner motivated the students by sharing his experiences as a successful innovator. Mr.Sudharson, final year BME student encouraged and motivated the student participants by sharing his knowledge to become an upcoming innovator. The students were engaged with activities and five students came up with innovative ideas for various problems. Prizes were distributed to the winners As a concluding session Mr.Eqbert, IIC convenor and Assistant Professor, Department of mechanical engineering explains about various awareness programs and competitions in relation with innovation and entrepreneurship. Total 53 students (15 boys and 38 girls) and 10 faculty members were participated and get benefitted.
