Mr. Jerry Jenith J, a Software Developer at Inbox Info Solutions, Nagercoil, began his presentation by discussing adaptive learning platforms and intelligent tutoring systems. He elaborated on the benefits of personalized learning and the administrative efficiencies that AI can bring to universities and schools. Additionally, he highlighted how AI can enhance student access and the role of virtual classrooms in making AI an indispensable technology in education.
On March 01, 2024, the Computer Science and Engineering department organized an student alumni interaction at the CSE Smart Class Room, beginning at 11:00 AM. Dr. A. Anitha, Academic coordinator of CSE organized the event. The Event started at 11:00 AM with students of 3rd year CSE singing the Tamil Thai Vazhthu followed by Adarsh of CSE 3rd year delivered the welcome address. Then CSE HOD Dr. V.G. Ranjith presented a memento to the chief guest cum alumni Shanker K. Shanker K then started his session and interacted with students about how an industry works, how a student needs to think when he enter an industry, what are all the positions they have in a industry and so on. It was an eye-opening interaction for all the students. He then concluded his session at around 12:45 PM. Mehek of 3rd year CSE delivered the vote of thanks and Students of 2nd year CSE sung National Anthem to winds up the entire session. On November 15, 2023, the Computer Science and Engineering department organized an workshop on the topic “Web Design and Development” at the CSE Smart Class Room, beginning at 02:00 PM. Dr. V. G. Ranjith, Head of the department CSE organized the event. The workshop started at 2:00 PM Mr. Abinston R providing the introduction about the session. Then he continued the workshop on how to build a web page using HTML, CSS and Javascript. The workshop continued for one and a half hour with the above topics I have mentioned and he also explained about Bootstrap which is the most popular CSS Framework for developing responsive and mobile-first websites. After the first session Mr. Nitheesh K a HR recruiter gave a detailed view on how to prepare a resume the do’s and dont’s during an interview. The session was very interactive as students asked many doubts to the resource person and got it clarified. The workshop concluded at 4:30 PM, with Riya , a final-year student specializing in computer science and engineering, delivering a vote of thanks.
On October 27, 2023, the Computer Science and Engineering department organized a Alumni meetup program at the CSE Smart Class Room, beginning at 03:00 PM. Dr. V. G. Ranjith, Head of the department CSE and Dr. A. Anitha, Academic coordinator CSE organized the event with the support of current final year students. The final year students decorated the smart class room to welcome the alumni. At 3:00 Pm the meetup started with Riya (Final Year Student) presenting an welcome address welcoming all the faculties present and all the alumni gathered. A Cake cutting ceremony was organised were alumni and faculties combinedly have cut the cake and shared with each other. Following that all the alumni shared their individual thoughts while they were studying in the college and also the experience they have now at there workplace. The Alumni meetup have concluded at 4:00 PM, with Riya , a final-year student specializing in computer science and engineering, delivering a vote of thanks. This event Created a special bonding between the students who have passed out & current final year students.
On October 13, 2023, the Computer Science and Engineering department organized a webinar titled "Data Visualization using Python" at the CSE Smart Class Room, beginning at 02:30 PM. The featured speaker for the event was Dr. D Roja Ramani, an Associate Professor from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at New Horizon College of Engineering in Bangalore. Dr. V. G. Ranjith, Assistant Professor, and Head of the CSE department convened the webinar, while Dr. B. Ben Sujitha, a Professor in the CSE department, played a crucial role in its organization. The session commenced with a warm welcome address from Dr. B. Ben Sujitha, Professor of the CSE department. After the welcome address, the resource person, Dr. D Roja Ramani, initiated the webinar. The session extended for approximately one hour, during which she delved into the fundamental concepts of data, its significance, and the importance of data visualization. Dr. Ramani also provided insights into the installation of Anaconda on a computer and proceeded to demonstrate various data visualization techniques using Python. The webinar concluded at 3:35 PM, with Mr. Bhelal Ansari, a final-year student specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, delivering a vote of thanks. This event served as an informative and engaging session on data visualization using Python.
The Computer Science and Engineering department conducted a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting during the ongoing semester, which is for 2023-2024 (ODD). The meeting took place on October 13, 2023, commencing at 11 AM. Parents of students in S3, S5, and S7 were proactively notified a week in advance. They were informed about the meeting through both personal phone calls and a dedicated WhatsApp group managed by class mentors. At 11:10 AM, the meeting was initiated by Dr. V. G. Ranjith, the Head of the department. Dr. Ranjith began by outlining the meeting's agenda and introducing the mentors and faculty members to the attending parents. He extended a warm welcome to all the parents in attendance. Subsequently, parents had the opportunity to voice their concerns and grievances to the mentors and the Head of the department. Discussions also revolved around the academic progress and overall development of their children in college. As the meeting drew to a close, feedback from the parents was gathered. To conclude the event on a pleasant note, a small refreshment was arranged for the attending parents before the meeting wrapped up around 12:45 PM.

National Conference on Innovative Research in Advanced Computing (NCIRAC) – April 11th 2023 organized by Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Department of Software Engineering. NCIRAC’23 aimed to bring together leading academicians, scientists and researchers on all aspects of innovative research in advanced computing. The inaugural function was held in A/C auditorium at 10:00 AM. The function started with Tamil Thaai Vazhthu followed with the welcome address by Dr. V. G. Ranjith, HOD/ CSE. Inaugural address was presented by Dr. P. Thirumalvalavan, Registrar of NICHE. Dr. D. S. Misbha, Assistant Professor/MCA, Nesamony Memorial Christian College, Marthandam conveyed the chief guest address. Dr. A. Anitha, Associate Professor/CSE delivered the conference report. Finally the inaugural function concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. Jelin Taric, Assistant Professor/ CSE. Research and Innovative ideas from students, researchers and academicians from various states of India were received and the original pioneering ideas reviewed by experts are selected for the oral presentation both in online and offline mode. Online mode presentation was conducted in CSE Smart Class Room and the offline mode presentation in A/C auditorium. Best papers on both the venues were rewarded with the award of excellence. Muthukrishna Vinayagam, Assistant Professor/CSE and Mr. D. Asir, Assistant Professor/CSE from Kamaraj College of Engineering and Technology, Virudhunagar. The workshop was convened by Dr. V. G. At 3:00 pm to 3:10 pm they had a tea break and finally they demonstrated the students how to build a simple Django web application. She has ten years of experience working with reputable MNCs like TCS and Wipro. The Alumni Interaction program was coordinated by Dr. A. Anitha, Associate Professor/CSE. Alumni Interaction Meeting was convened by Dr. J. Arul Linsely, Secretary, NIAA, Dr. K. S. Jai Aultrin, Treasurer, NIAA and Dr. V. G. Ranjith, HOD/ CSE. The meeting started with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu by Dr. V. G. Ranjith, HOD/CSE with the students of CSE. Dr. G. Venifa Mini, Assistant Professor/CSE welcomed the gathering and briefed about Mrs. J. Maria Dhivya, Alumni, followed by the felicitation of Dr. V. G. Ranjith. Memento was presented to the alumni by Dr. J. Arul Linsely. The interaction was handled by the alumnus Mrs. J. Maria Dhivya. She introduced herself to the gathering and explained the path of her career from the first day of college till the final day and the experience of placement in TCS & WIPRO by the placement cell of Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education. She was overwhelmed to be the part of this meeting and shared that her achievements are because of the institution and the faculties of CSE department and told that this was the proudest moment in her life. She motivated students for the preparation for the placement i.e., how to prepare a professional resume, what are the factors to be focused to attend the interviews etc. She also gave the tips for the career & professional improvement. The convener of the programme was Dr. V. G. Ranjith, Head of Computer Science and Engineering. The Department of Computer Science & Engineering organized a seminar on “Python Career Awareness & API” on 16/05/2022 and 18/05/2022 from 11.00 a.m. to 01:00 p.m. for the benefits of students of Computer Science and Engineering and Artificial Intelligence & Data Science departments. The convener for the programme was Dr. C. P. Maheswaran, Head of Computer Science and Engineering. 16 students from S4 BE CSE, 1 Student from S3 BE AI & DS, 19 students from S6 BE CSE participated in this seminar on 16/05/2022. 11 students from S2 BE CSE and 9 students from IT participated in this seminar on 18/05/2022. The Resource Person was Mr. N. R. Raghav Narayanan, Director and Founder- Vollmond Academy, Villukuri. He is doing digital marketing, web and graphic designing. He described the recent emergence of Python in industry and the career opportunities in Python. He explained how can consume APIs with Python code, most important API-related concepts and how to use Python to read data available through public APIs.

He explained the industry expectations and gave the guidance to get a job. He also advised the students to decide and plan for a career that matches their interests and personality and helps them grow.
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering organized a seminar on “Redhat and Develops for career change” on 28/10/2021 from 10.15 a.m. to 01:00 p.m. for the benefits of students of Computer Science and Engineering and Artificial Intelligence & Data Science departments. The Convenor for the programme was Dr. C. P. Maheswaran, Head of Computer Science and Engineering. 18 students from S3 BE CSE, 2 Students from S3 BE AI & DS, 2 students from S3 BE EEE and 13 students from S5 BE CSE participated in this seminar. The Resource Person was Mr. M. Gomathi Subramanian, Managing Director, CubenSquare Technology Solutions. He is an authorized Redhat training partner. He highlighted the importance and the components of Redhat. He also presented the various Redhat products and Redhat virtualization components. He encouraged the students to attend the certification course on Redhat and explained the benefits of that and the procedure to join the course.
A Two day National Level Workshop on Python Programming was conducted virtually with interactive hands-on sessions by the department of Computer Science and Engineering, Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education and Sree Buddha College of Engineering on 07.01.2021 & 09.01.2021 for all students. Dr. C. P. Maheswaran, Head of the Department, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, inaugurated the training session. He formally welcomed the dignitaries and participants in his opening address. He requested the students to pay eager attention to the training and emphasized upon the importance of learning new technologies and tools for the students. Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized an Online Quiz for HSC & DIPLOMA Students from 19.06.2021, 10.00 am. to 26-06-2021, 07:00 pm. for the benefits of HSC students and DIPLOMA students from different schools and colleges. Around 121 participants registered and participated in this Online Quiz. The Convener for the Programme was Dr. C. P. Maheswaran, Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department and the Programme Co-ordinator was Mr. S. Jebin Bose, Research Scholar from Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education. Online Quiz was conducted online using the link, https://forms.gle/7HnqD81RyLn3s32m7. No participation fee was collected. A confirmation message after each submission was shared with all participants through their registered email id. A total of 10 Questions has been arranged for Online Quiz from various domains related to Science, Technology, and Engineering. E-certificates were issued to the participants who score above 50% marks. The Online Quiz was a grand success with the cooperation of staff members of our department, Research Scholars, and faculty.

The Resource Person Mr.CH Ravindar Reddy, Application Engineer, DesignTech Systems Private Ltd., Hyderabad, highlighted the importance of MATLAB, with the introduction to MATLAB, importance of Machine learning, types of machine learning, Machine Learning Workflow, Demo: Train a model to predict Diabetes, Demo: Time series forecasting. Finally Dr. J.E.Judith, Co-ordinator of the webinar concluded the event by thanking the dignitaries, guests and participants. E-certificates were issued to all active participants. The Department of Computer Science & Engineering Organized the National Conference on Computational and Scientific Era “NCCSE’21 on 6th May 2021. The conference is chaired by Dr. C. P. Maheswaran, Associate Professor & Head, Department of CSE. The theme of the conference is to bring together leading academicians, scientists and researchers on all aspects of innovative computing. The inaugural function is featured with the chief guests Mr. Ram Sundar Murugesan, Solution Architect, TCS, UK and Mrs. R. L. Priya, Assistant professor, Computer Engineering, Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology, Mumbai. 127 participants attended the inaugural function through the Google meet. The paper presentation of the conference was conducted virtually through the Google meet platform after the inaugural function with two slots in parallel. 37 participants were presented in slot 1 and 30 participants were presented in slot 2. Best presentations from two slots were selected and the best presentation award was given to those participants.81 papers with 208 authors were received for the conference from various colleges and universities in Tamilnadu and Kerala. These papers were published in the conference proceedings NCCSE’21 with ISBN 978-93-5473-452-6. 230 certificates were issued to the participants.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a Five Day National Level Workshop on Practical Deep Learning from 01.02.2021 (Monday) to 05.02.2021 (Friday) from 01.00 p.m. to 03:30 p.m. for the benefits of students, research scholars and faculties of NICHE. Around 134 participants registered and 73 participated in this workshop. The Convener for the programme was Dr. C. P. Maheswaran, Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department and the Programme Coordinators were Dr. A. Anitha, Associate Professor and Prof. S. Safrin, Assistant Professor from Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education. The Resource Person Dr. Shaja Arul Selvamani, Director Data Science, Envestnet Yodlee, USA, highlighted the importance of deep learning using Multi-Layer Perceptron Learning, Hidden Layer Perceptron, Convolution Neural Network.He also demonstrated TensorFlow, in order to develop fully customised deep learning models and workflows for any application using generative Models. He also conducted practical sessions in Google Colab environment and discussed the upcoming research trends and applications related to deep learning.
We celebrate Teachers’ day every year throughout the country on 5th September. This day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – second President of India. The great academic philosopher, and one of the most well-known diplomats, scholar, president of India and above all a teacher. As a tribute to this great teacher, his birthday has been observed as teachers' day. A celebration conducted at our department by our faculty on 5th September 2020. The whole function was planned by our beloved Head of Department Dr. C. P. Maheswaran and other faculty members. On the occasion of teacher’s day, staff have decided to plant trees in and around our department. They took a great initiative to plant trees in the department. This is an important step of afforestation to maintain the ecological balance of nature. In this event, about 15 teaching and non-teaching staff participated and planted various trees and make this day a great success. The event ended on the happy note where all the staff were given sweets.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education, Kumaracoil, Thuckalay organized a Five Days Faculty Development Programme on Trends and Technologies in Digital Era from 27.07.2020 (Monday) to 31.07.2020 (Friday), at 11:00 A.M to 02:00 P.M. Around 266 participants registered and 143 participated in this FDP. The convener for the programme was Dr.C.P.Maheswaran, Head of the Department, Department of Computer Science and Engineering,and the programme coordinators were Dr.J.E.Judith and Dr.A.Anitha, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Registration was done online using the link, https://forms.gle/daZ3mCB939xysGxB7. No registration fee was collected. The last date for registration was fixed to 25-7-2020. Meeting link was shared to all participants through their registered email id. Certificates were issued to all active participants. The FDP was a grand success by the grace of our Lord Almighty and with the active participation of all department staff members and participants from other colleges and universities.
On account of the global lockdown, the department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a national webinar titled “Introduction to IoT with Google Firebase”. It was conducted on 06-06-2020 from 11 AM to 12.30 PM for the benefit of faculty and students by Mr. Manas Kumar Das, Head of Engineering, huelabs India. Nearly 420 faculty members and students from national, international colleges and universities registered in this webinar. Nearly 105 participants were actively participated. The resource person presented the importance of IoT with Google Firebase. The main aim of IoT was to unify everything in world including things, people, place and process under a common infrastructure to provide information and control of state of objects around us. Firebase is a platform for creating mobile and web applications developed by Google. It supports to build apps fast, without managing infrastructure. Firebase gives us the functionality like analytics, databases, messaging and crash reporting so we can move quickly and focus on users. E-certificates were issued to all active participants. The webinar was well appreciated by the participants.
In an effort to keep people at home during the lockdown, Department of Computer Science and Engineering planned to conduct an online quiz. The quiz contest aims at engaging people during the lockdown and giving them an opportunity to refresh their knowledge. It also promotes “curiosity-based learning”. The department has also decided to give certificates as a token of appreciation to all the participants of the event to encourage people to participate in the programme. Based on that, an online quiz on Internet of Things was conducted from 18/05/2020 to 25/05/2020. The quiz was conducted with 20 multiple-choice questions, each question carries 5 marks. Around 2600 people around the world participated in this event. E-Certificates were issued to the participants who secured more than 50%.

Technical symposium is held for the budding engineers to showcase their talents & skills under a single roof.
The department of Computer Science and Engineering organized One day Online Workshop entitled ‘C and C++’ on 29/02/2020 from 9.30 A.M to 6.00 P.M. It was conducted by the Teaching Learning Centre (ICT), funded by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching, MHRD, Govt. of India and coordinated by IIT Bombay. Our university was acted as a remote Centre and the Remote Centre ID is 1052. The Remote Centre Coordinator is Dr. Julia Punitha Malar Dhas and Course Coordinator is Mrs. P.O. Sinciya. 23 participants have participated in this workshop and certificates were distributed by IIT Bombay.
Objective of the Workshop Encompasses in acquiring the Sales force Admin certificate and to Learn salesforce lightning platform. The course takes the students through various customization’s possible in salesforce lightning. It also covers how to implement some of the commonly used business scenarios in lightning. This course is a complete hands -on course so the students can learn by doing.
Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education, organized a National Level Technical Seminar entitled “Machine Learning and its Application” on 24/02/2020. Dr. S.V. Annlin Jeba, Sree Buddha College of Engineering, was the resource person. More than 60 students participated in this seminar and got benefited.
Objective of the FDP Data has real value and every information extracted from it can make or break businesses. Analytics is the intersection of business and data science, offering new opportunities for a competitive advantage. Data analytics can lead to valuable insights that can determine leads to increase sales, fraud detection, pattern recogni-tion and risk prediction in various domains. As part of this initiative, a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) is conducted to focus on the fundamentals of data analytics with hands-on sessions on every topic handled using python.
A motivational talk on “Motivation & beyond: from the perspective of studying overseas“ was delivered to the final year and 3rd year students on Oct. 29th 2019 by Dr. Lakshmi J. Mohan, Associate Professor, Government College of Engineering, Idukki, an alumnus of our institute.
5 of the final year students attended a 1-day workshop on “Python – Machine Learning” conducted on July 19th, 2019 by Concept Solutions, Thiruvananthapuram. The sessions were handled by Mr. Abhilash Nelson.

Emerson Raja, Senior Lecturer, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Multimedia University, Malaysia presented a motivational talk to the students of Iind , IIIrd & IVth year students. Dr. K.R. Seeja, Associate Professor/CSE, Indira Gandhi Technical University for Women, New Delhi interacting with the IVth students on the topic “ Research Trends in Data Mining”.
National Conference on Innovative Computing Science and Engineering (NCICSE’19) was conducted by the Computer Science and Engineering department of Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education on 2nd April – 2019. The conference was chaired by Dr. Julia Punitha Malar Dhas, Prof. and Head of the department and in collaboration with Journal of Emerging Technologies and Innovative Research (JETIR). The conference held over a day at different venues witnessing the participation of about more than 100 delegates from prominent colleges and Universities. The star-studded inaugural function was held on 2nd April 2019. The honorable vice-chancellor Dr. R. Perumal Samy and dignitaries inaugurated the conference. The conference proceedings were released by the honorable Vice Chancellor, and the first copy was received by Dr.A.Shajin Nargunam, the director (Academic Affairs) of Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education. The inaugural function was followed by keynote address. The keynote address was delivered by our Industrial Expert Mr.J.Kannan, Module Lead, Mindtree Ltd from USA. The technical sessions were held at different venues simultaneously in the afternoon session. After the reviewing all the papers, the juries of each venue selected the best paper presented in that particular venue. These selected best papers were rewarded with the award of excellence.

The Chief Guests of this national conference were Dr. L. M. Merlin Livingston, Principal, Jeppiaar Institute of Technology and Mr. J. Kannan, Module Lead, Mindtree Ltd. USA. Mr. J. Kannan, an alumnus of NICE delivered the inaugural address. Few of the selected papers were published in the UGC journal - International Journal of Emerging Technologies and Innovative Research.
