Seminar on AI in Education

Department of Software Engineering organized a one day seminar on “AI in Education” on July 30, 2024 in J203-Department Smart Class Room. The seminar focused on the impact of AI in education and explains various AI tools. The programme started at 11:00 am with the welcome address by Ms.Aswini, S4 BSc CS. All Session were conducted by Dr.M.R.Sheeba, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Govt. Arts and Science College for Women, Sathankulam. She explained the role of AI in education and various AI tools through Poerpoint. Six faculties and 24 students from our department attended seminar and enhance their knowledge in field of AI in Education. Mr. Sajin, S4 BSc CS offered the vote of thanks. The programme wrapped up around 1:00 pm.

SEBEX 17

The students association SEBEX (Software Engineers Beacon for Next Generation) conducts National Level Technical Symposium regularly which is an innovative consortium of students from the department of Software Engineering. As a part of our Association conducting Technical Symposiums every year, we conduct Intra Departmental competitions like Paper Presentation, Memory Test, Aptitude (Solving Problems), Debugging (Finding Bugs), Poster Designing (Design a poster with technical arts) Quiz Competition, Gaming Competition, Music Competition and Dance Competition. In Paper presentation, more than 18 papers were presented by our students in recent areas in the field. All the students were made to participate compulsorily in the Memory test and Aptitude events. For Debugging event, a number of logical and complex programs were given from various programming languages.

Quiz Competition

The most special event for the SEBEX is Quiz Competition for the Higher Secondary School Students. There were 42 students from 14 schools all over Kanyakumari District participated. Preliminary and final rounds were conducted. Participants were awarded with certificates and the Prize winners were honored with prizes worth of Rs. 20000/-.

Computer Training Programe for Panchayat Presidents and secretaries

As per the communication referred to among, the Panchayat President and Secretaries have been given computer training on “Basic of Computers” for three days on slot basis from 25th November 2016 to 29th November 2016. The training programme was attended by 56 members.

SEBEX which was started in the year 2001 has come a long way with glorious stories of success to conduct the national Symposium and named as Sebex, Sebex 02, Sebex 03 and Sebex 04. Later, the name changed as Sebex’ 05 - Phonix, Sebex 06 – Exuberance, Sebex 07 – Enflame, Sebex 08 – Exhilaration, Sebex 10 – Encrysia, Sebex 11 – Esperanza, Sebex 12 Ebullience, Sebex 15 – Elancia and Sebex 16 – Epicano

Higher Secondary School teachers in hands on training on “Internet Programming”

As per the official communication received, the Higher Sceondary School Teachers were given computer training on “Internet Programming” for three days on slot basis from 28th April 2016 to 11th May 2016. The training programme was attended by 105 members.
