Vision of the Department:
To offer the most conducive environment for quality academic and research oriented undergraduate and postgraduate education in computer science and engineering and prepare the students for a globalised technological society and orient them towards serving the society

ʉۢ Impart high quality professional training at the undergraduate and postgraduate level with an emphasis on basic principles of computer science and engineering.
• Empower the students with the required skills to solve the complex technological problems of modern society and also provide them with a framework for promoting collaborative and multidisciplinary activities.

• Conduct research to advance the state of the art in computer science and integrate research results and innovations into other scientific disciplines.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in 1989 to fulfill the growing demand for professionals. The main mission of the Computer Science and Engineering Department is to create the best IT infrastructure, and a world-class learning and research environment, and to instill moral and ethical values through industry collaborations. The undergraduate degree in computer science and engineering is primarily intended to prepare for programming and system development careers. The student is expected to gain knowledge and abilities in both hardware and software technologies that are connected to computer science. The emphasis in the classroom is on both system and application programming. The special focus is on soft skills, software, logical, and reasoning skills.

The department has been able to keep pace with the rapid technological advancements placed in the field of computer science. It has also an enviable academic record made possible by the relentless efforts of its dedicated faculty. The faculty is a perfect blend of different specializations in Computer Science and Engineering to impart their expertise in handling diversified courses of the UG and PG programs.

   

The department provides excellent research facilities for Ph.D. students. Deep learning, Machine learning, Wireless and mobile communication, Knowledge discovery, Cloud computing, Data Science, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and other frontier topics are all encompassed by the department. Many multinational corporations and Indian companies are always on the hunt for qualified computer scientists, and candidates can choose from various opportunities. Several opportunities are also opening up in the government sector, particularly in e-governance and government-to-citizen services.
