Department of Software Engineering

The Department of Software Engineering was established in 1999, with the mission to impart computer education to the students in the rural area of Kanyakumari district, so that they become enlightened and intelligent thereby improve their living standards.

 The department offers the Five Year Integrated degree Software Engineering Course that was initially affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. In 2002, the course was affiliated to Anna University Chennai with an intake of 60 students per batch. Later in 2006 – 2007, another two M.Sc. Courses - M.Sc. Computer Technology (5 years integrated) and M.Sc. Information Technology (5 years integrated) were added. In 2011, M.Sc. Software Engineering Course (5 years integrated) was started under NICHE. In 2012, M.Phil. & Ph.D. programmes in Computer Science and in the Year 2020 B.Sc. & M.Sc. Computer Science Courses were  started under NICHE.
